@jbyeats only because at the moment i wouldnt really want €50k of gold coins in my house or even in a bank….the convenience of an online account is attractive. im happy if a reputable firm holds it for me. but then thats the key isnt it? you can never be 100% sure a firm, any firm, is reputable.

If you are happy with GOLD/SILVER certificates then so be it – be happy.
However , if a serious crisis were to arise & the NYMEX were to close -
you would be holding a piece of paper.
We live in a very uncertain world – I don’t understand why you would want
someone else to keep your GOLD . $1US MILLION can easily fit in a suitcase .
Why would you not want TOTAL CONTROL OF THAT SUITCASE – rather
than someone else – who you don’t even know?

The NYMEX prices are controlled by FOUR major US Investment Banks .
The Gold/Silver price is rising constantly at present , because many Central Banks throughout the world have been demanding REAL GOLD & SILVER – not certificates.
Recently , India took charge of 600 Tons of physical Gold – out of the market place
& back to india.
Everyone knows this – hence the price goes up.
It should go up a lot more , but is forced down by the ‘ dumping’ of the

does this mean the ‘market’ gold & silver prices we see on TV everyday are fake? And if JP Morgan have this apparent large short position, why is the gold price constantly rising? Also, are these internet sites like goldmoney safe? They claim your gold is being held in a vault somewhere and i have heard good reviews about them. this is surely separate from the derivatives market or am i wrong?

You are one of the first commentators to raise this vital issue.
Within the next 1-2 years we will witness inflation on a huge scale
across Western Societies . Since 2008 – Trillions of Dollars & Euros
have been dumped into markets to stabilize them .This has effectively devalued
the money already in circulation – there is no amount of talking or politiking
can get around that. Gold & silver do offer a serious hedge.

All the comments on here are very informed to a dunce like me; but nobody gives advice on where and how to buy Silver say? and any clever methods of concealing it in your home. Maybe someone who knows how to go about buying and selling whatever, say Silver should give advice to concerned people who might have a few Euros to spare at the end of the month out of their dole. I wouldn’t know where to start and even if I did have a few bob, it would probably go to the credit union.
